Last day of our Bali vacation!

August 2012

All good things must come to an end. So, it was the Sunday when we had to leave for Singapore. For Ryan and E, they were quite sad. I was thankful because I was really quite sick throughout the trip. *boohoo*

Thank goodness that Ryan was once again cooperative during the flight. In fact, he fell asleep towards the last one hour so I manage to sneak in my 40 winks.

Overall, it was a wonderful first family trip and I am proud to say that we survived my first overseas trip with Baby Ryan!

The Most Beautiful Bali Wedding…

August 2012

E and I have known Jerry and Eileen during our very early salsa days and we did spend a period of time with them during weekends- going for salsa, outings and house parties. In the salsa gang, Eileen is the domesticated goddess(with her awesome baking) and Jerry is the guy with the many jokes. Both of them are equally good looking and are really good dancers. So, they did get together and when we heard wedding bells ringing, we were so excited and happy for them!

This is a picture of both of them in September 2008, before they got together. How cute right? And they are so gorgeous together!!!

Of course, when we received the invite to their Bali wedding, it was definitely a must go! And yes, I am so thankful that we went for the wedding because I know this wedding experience will never be similar to any other.

The location-Tirtha was so breathtakingly beautiful, the architecture of the place was just so magnificent. I was so awed/touched by every single aspect of the wedding- the chapel, the choir(one of the singers should possibly consider joining Bali Idol, his voice is so angelic!!!), the surprise item that Jerry planned for Eileen, the wedding dance, the name tags, the goodie bags, the beautiful bridesmaids, the wedding band, the cool photo booth… Every detail of the wedding was thoughtful! *sigh sigh*

It was also a wonderful time because we managed to catch up with some of our salsa friends. Well, E and I don’t really dance anymore even though we hope to return in near future.

Okay, peektures!

Dinner time!

We ended the night early at around 10ish while the rest of the party went to the couple’s villa to party the night away. The wedding experience was just magical and we wish Eileen and Jerry a blessed marriage just like their wedding day- beautiful, full of love and joy.

Bali in the morning…

August 2012

These are just some of Ryan’s stash. With a baby, you must never under pack. It was also a good thing that we brought along his books and toys- they helped to entertain him for a while.

Yes, I brought our steriliser as well.
That is how kiasu I am.

The boys were still sleeping when I woke up and so I went pottering around the room and got dressed up for the morning.

It was not long later when E woke up as well and he took some pictures for me!

Baby Ryan was the last to wake up. When he woke up and got dressed, he went for his favourite fruit/animal book.

And yes, we were all dressed in huat huat red!

Anyways, I think the hotel upgraded us to a better room because we had a huge balcony to chillax in which we did not make much use of!

Headed down to the cafe for breakkie! And to our surprise, it was a full morning buffet spread awaiting for us. This also meant that Ryan had his choice of food- bread, cakes, eggs…

I love the baby chair that Ryan is in… totally cute!

Off we went for shopping in the streets of Kuta. We stayed in Ramayana Hotel which is in the heart of Kuta- superb location! The only downside was possibly that we could still hear loud music at night from the pubs. But it was manageable.

Well, we did not buy many things but I did get my manicure, pedicure and my hair braided!

We returned to our hotel around 1ish and Ryan and I were dead beat.
We fell asleep while E went to order some awesome tasting burger from room service again.

Next post will be on the wedding!

Off to BALI!

August 2012

It was the National Day weekend and we were off to Bali for Eileen and Jerry’s wedding! Although it was just a short trip (Thursday night to Sunday afternoon), packing was just crazy madness because of Baby Ryan. There was one luggage dedicated just for his diapers and snacks.

My parents sent us to the airport and we had lunch at Soup Restaurant.
Oooohh… totally love the chicken with ginger sauce!

After we checked in, we did some DFShopping. No bags this time round! Boohoo! E should totally get me one for my birthday though. Heehee. We even managed to sneak in some time at the Family Zone- just for Baby Ryan.

Thankfully, Ryan was rather cooperative for his maiden flight.
Not much fuss and he was kept pretty happy with his snacks, books and bear.

I think Singapore Airlines is definitely one of the better airlines to fly with when babies are around. First, they have this cool baby bassinet for baby to sleep on and parents can have a break. The stewardesses are oh-so friendly and cheery- they remembers Ryan’s name. And they even have a selection of bottled baby food!

Because it was an afternoon flight, we only reach Bali in the evening and we were all very exhausted. Ryan went to bed early and we ordered room service. Food was a-okay…nothing fantastic but we were definitely looking forward to the next morning!

Gratitude Sunday

August 2012

So, we are back from Bali. It has been a great trip except I was not feeling well. Bah!

I am thankful for many reasons:

1. We had a safe trip. Before the trip, I was rather apprehensive about bringing Ryan along. It did not really help when my parents told me so many horrifying scenarios of Ryan possibly getting lost.

2. There is my supportive hubby along with us for the trip. I was not feeling well when I was in Bali and E definitely stepped up by ensuring that I felt better by doing most of the packing, planning and caring for Baby Ryan while I slept away the afternoons in Bali away.

3. Ryan did not really fuss on the plane or during the trip. He vomited once during the trip but that was manageable. Thank God

4. The wedding was beyond my expectations. I have a yearly assessment of the many weddings I go for- it is based on couple’s looks, fun factor, novelty and those along such lines. So in 2010, (in my own opinion, and of course we can have different opinions) I thought our wedding was quite fun and exciting considering the many dances that we had. In 2011, the best wedding experience was definitely Amy’s wedding which was held at St Regis and it was featured in some atas magazine, This year, Eileen and Jerry’s wedding experience is like a new top for me. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. I am sure the bride paid a lot of attention to the details of the wedding because everything about the wedding was awesome! That aside, I wonder if my camera actually hates good wedding. The last time I brought my camera to Amy’s wedding, the battery died. This time at Bali, the camera died half way through! Okay, the previous three lines are not really part of my Gratitude Sunday.

So, that is it for Gratitude Sunday. Will update with our Bali trip this week!
